World Record Paraglider Wins Rumble-Sponsored Award in Banff

We had a blast at this year's Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival!

If you haven't heard of it, the Banff festival is a world-class film and book festival celebrating mountain sport, culture, and adventure. The films featured are inspiring and awe-inducing, with stories about free climbers, kite-assisted snowboarders, arctic expeditions, and the limits of human endurance, just to name a few.

Thousands of people who love mountain sport and culture visit Banff each year during the festival. We were stoked to join them this year as a festival sponsor, because outdoor, active living and adventure are a big part of what it means for us to #feedthegood and fuel your life.

The Rumble team was on site in Banff all weekend, sampling and selling Supershakes at the Mountain Marketplace. Despite the chilly weather, the town was buzzing with festival energy, and we met some incredible adventurers, filmmakers, and fans during our stay.

Alongside Oboz footwear, MEC, Kicking Horse Coffee and Mountain House, we got up early to support the annual Sunrise Hikes and take in epic mountain views.

It total, we gave away over 1200 cartons of Rumble, and still managed to see some inspiring mountain films.

The best part? We got to give away the Rumble-sponsored award for 2019 Best Film Mountain Sports. The winner, a film called '8000+', follows Antoine Girard, French paraglider, as he attempts to break the world height record for paragliding and fly over the 8051m high summit of Broad Peak in the Karakorum mountain range in Pakistan - alone. It's an insane and beautiful challenge - everything we love about the festival. Check out the trailer below.
